BBC mulls Kids Radio station
The BBC is looking at launching a dedicated children's radio station – otherwise it faces having to pull out of kids' radio altogether.
The BBC Trust report on BBC Children's services, published today, found that its existing children's radio services offer poor value for money to the licence fee payer.
The corporation spent £1.6m on children's radio programming in the 2007/08 financial year - including a daily slot between 2pm and 5pm on BBC (Radio) 7, and Go4it, a Sunday evening magazine show after The Archers on (BBC) Radio 4.

Can't believe we have to pay for that colossus liberal nut organisation that is the Beeb.
Talk about numpty's - £130p/a for 4 channels, which consist of around 3 good shows...
Please.

The block on BBC7 should be banned anyway, heard the last minute before listening to Second Thoughts earlier. They have that Kirsten O'Brien treating listeners like... well children. Might just be that it's a particular bugbear of mine, speaking to children in gobbledegook, if you speak to them properly they might grow up with a fine vocabulary.

Re: BBC mulls Kids Radio station
Heard on the news today that Go4it will soon be gone.
Apparently, the target audience is 4 to 14 years but the the average listener is actually over 50!

Re: BBC mulls Kids Radio station
When my kids contribute to the license fee then they can watch\listen to kids programs, until then its back down the bloody pit for them. Aint there enough kids programming on TV\radio as it is? What makes me laugh (slight tangent) is that BBC HD has to show xx hrs of kids programming per day when in actual fact the kids could give a monkeys toss as to whether it in HD or SD.
