Re: Indian Doctors Save Speared Boy

Excellent - some good news.

The last couple of lines in the article show it is not an isolated incident
"Amazingly this is not an isolated incident in India.

Last year, doctors in Delhi removed a 5ft iron rod from the chest of a 22-year-old man after a road accident.

And a 21-year-old construction worker in the western city of Pune had a 6ft rod removed that pierced him from shoulder to thigh via his abdomen."

"Almost" unbelievable!

From the article it really sounds like they need to review health and safety regulations!

As for bravery, the kid looks hardly phased. He might have been talking about the tattoo he is going to have following his body piercing.....

I'm impressed...

Well perhaps elf and safety is one of those issues that they are working on as a developing country.Mind we have had our own similar cases in the past..I'm sure if you Googled you would find any number of them...

Certainly this lad is very lucky to have access to good medical help.

Re: Indian Doctors Save Speared Boy

what a strange pass-time. Does searching for speared persons have a similar site to post to as GoogleWhacking does?

As for the brave part, I don't really think he had much choice, which is really what bravery is. making a choice to risk something close to oneself in an act of selflessness. the lad kept his dignity throughout his ordeal, yes, maybe. brave? I'm not so sure....

(lays in wait for the mob....)

Just pointing out that impalement it's a much more common accident than you might think so it's not so 'unbelievable'.
