Question ITV net player HD

Hi does anyone have any idea when there is going to be any HD content added to the ITV net player as mentioned in the original press release?

I have checked everyday and there is no sign of anything in Catchuptv or TV Choice.

your really impatiance, you do realise they have to transfer the data to each head end and that takes some time jsut think of it you downloading a 10gb file on your 10mb line it isnt quick but it still faster than most

If it took me 14 days to download a 10gb file then i would be worried!

I would like to think Virginmedia are able to do this a lot faster then10gb and how am i being impatient if the service was launched 14 days ago and we were promised HD content but none arrives!

All i want to know is if anyone has heard anything about it?

Re: ITV net player HD

They never promised HD content on ITV player right away.

However there will be HD content by April time.

ITV HD content would still not take any longer than the current HD content to transfer to the headends. Also, I suspect the VOD systems in the headends have considerably more bandwidth for transfers than 10, 20 or even 50 meg, so transfers would be considerably faster than they would for you or me.

Once ITV start releasing HD content on Virgin On Demand, I'd be surprised if it took any more than a couple of hours to transfer to all the headends.

Thumbs up Re: ITV net player HD

Thanks Stuart and Stephen for the information, that's all I wanted to know, as Virginmedia seem to be very lacking on giving out information to customers i find this forum so useful for finding out information.
