Modem light's changed
As some of you may know, ive been harping on about my modem upload light flashing every 3 to 4 seconds (when not in use) for months now, and ive been informed this is normal, but my 20 meg connection has been less than perfect for quite a while now too, and i felt rightly or wrongly that this was the indicator of an issue with my upstream performance.
Fed up with poor gaming performance and hosting problems, i decided to upgrade to 50Mb, which is due for install this saturday,,,,,,, can't wait.
However last night i noticed for the first time ever, that my modem upload light wasnt flashing at all, (when not on the internet), and obviously flashing when i was.
Normally the upload light flashes every 3 to 4 seconds regardless of internet activity but now nothing, apart from the occasional flicker.
I,m not overly concerned because i should be on 50Mb by saturday, but i did do a speedtest last night which showed approx 10Mb down and 680ish Up.
Normally my download is spot on, so i just wondered if VM have altered something in anticipation of my 50Mb install, and therefore wanted to ask is this normal.

Re: Modem light's changed
Post the numbers from your modem dude. I am thinking you're on the 50Mbit equipment now and a slightly different config meaning those lights flash less.

I'm sure he needs downstream frequency to verify.

Re: Modem light's changed
a quick speed test last night showed a nice stable 19Mb down and 720kbps up, and downloading from blue yonder games showed 2.2MB (wireless)
i would hazard a guess that i am now in fact on the 50 meg equipment due for install saturday,
Happy days
