Start & End times
Hi,
I have my V+ box set to start a program 2 mins before and end 10 mins after, but for some reason over Christmas almost everything i've recorded on BBC has started early and ended before the program has ended.
I was watching "My Family" that i had recorded and had to watch the end of it on iplayer. Same with "Wallace & Gromit" I think Eastenders was on for about 10 mins before it started.
Are my settings not working or did all BBC1 programs start very early.

Re: Start & End times
Progs on christmas day evening overran their times by 8-10 mins (and if I remember right the same happened last year!)

Re: Start & End times
in cases where 3 recording overlap (only two tuners) V+ used to 'fail' one of the recordings
which was a shame when the only thing causeing overlap was padding
i'm pretty sure that in the last code drop - padding is now dropped in cases of triple recording clash
on it's own it shouldn't be a problem but combine that with late running schedule and you have problems that you've described
cure?
be more aware of triple recordings & late schedules
if a you know a schedule is running late & you have three recordings set to clash - also record the following prog

just wondering what the answer is ?
have VM now solved this problem - or will I continue to miss the ends of programs - surely this technical glitch can be fixed ?

Re: Start & End times
Read various threads on this.
I have my V+ set for 2 mins before and 10 mins after each prog. I have recent examples of planned recordings only lasting 30mins and 60 mins. Consequently I am missing the ends of programmes. On one occasion (Unforgiven on ITV this weeek) this has been the only recording planned for the whole day so triple recordings caused by overlaps cannot be the problem.
Do we have any answers from VM or experts?
Just spoken to VM and they say there is a problem in my area that is causing customers to miss the start and end of programmes. they have people looking at the problem! They have also offered a credit on my account as a good will gesture!

Re: Start & End times
Mines works fine. If I'm recording a must see programme I often record the following program too, especially Football that has the potential to go into extra time and penalties. I got caught out with that one once - never again.
