New Deal

Hi. I've been with VM for a around 18 months now

Am currently on a 3 for £30 deal (Basic phone, basic broadband, but XL TV) - which is good as I don't have to pay anything extra for my V+

This expires next month - has anyone had any experience in a similar situation - I'm hoping they'd allow me to sign up for another year on the same deal.

What do you think ?

Re: New Deal

I think you should call them before it expires, tell them you like the deal you're on and can you renew it for another 12 months - you'll get it - if you still have couple months to go they'll probably make a note on your account

Re: New Deal

Thanks - I will do, but I know the offer is no longer in play - so I'm ready for a knock back

If I keep my existing services it will be £41.50 a month. If I downgrade my TV - to the usual 3 for £30 deal I still will be paying £35 (due to V+)

In these times of cost cutting - I'm looking to make some savings but its not looking great.

Does anyone know what is the lowest tariff on VM, for phone, bb and TV (with V+) ?

Re: New Deal

Just to update - called VM last week and the sales person said it couldn't be done and I either pay £41.50 or downgrade

Called today and was transferred from sales to a v helpful person (when I mentioned I may need to downgrade my services)

The upshot was that I signed up to another year at 3 for £30 (XL TV - so no V+ subscription, BB and phone).

Interestingly the agent mentioned that now "deals" are ongoing and do not expire - so if I called up next Nov - I should get the same deal, depending on any billing charge alterations like recently

My advise is to try a few people at VM until you either get what you want - or are consistently told the same message

I guess the deals must be on going. My phone deal has been running for many years

Re: New Deal

I also had this problem last year when my deal expired. The deal was Free Install of V+ XL TV and Phone for £31. When it came to the end, my Bill was going to jump over 40+. When I first called Virgin they said I would have to downgrade. I then said I would leave, which made them re-think. The new deal was £40 for the V+ box(one off payment) and then got V+, TV Basic and Unlimited phone 24 for £23pm. This has since increase by £1 due to paper billing. Will see what I can get in January when it expires again.

Re: New Deal

V+ will cost you an added £5 a month if not on XL TV. Not sure if you use the unlimited phone - but you could trade on that ?

Currently if you take the basic phone and TV, that's £11 a month - add the V+ and its a total of around £16 (give or take with the paper billing)

Helps if you build a rapport with the agent (not a sales one) - and also if you get through to someone who knows what they are doing...
