Moving a BB Connection

Hi,

I'm wanting to move the broadband connection from one room into another. To do so I need to actually move the white box on the wall, the cable outside should be long enough to reach the new room but before I strip the box down and take it off the wall I want to make sure its possible to reassemble it afterwards.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, just in case does anyone know what type of cable goes from the brown box (outside) to the white box (inside)?

Thanks,
- Skavenger

Re: Moving a BB Connection

Moving it will require you to remove the F-connector from the end of the cable. You will not be able to re fit it as it is crimped on.
You can bodge a new one on but it won't be ideal.

Call virgin and pay to get it done properly

Re: Moving a BB Connection

Thanks for the info, I knew there would be some sort of crimped on connector. Thats why I posted the question but I'd rather pay £2 for a connector that £25/£50 for a call-out all for 15 minutes of "technicians" time when the job is going to be easier than wiring up cat5e cable jacks.
