Exclamation Modem Password

Just checking my broadband speed and found a marked decrease. On investigation I go to log onto my modem and check the setting (Ambit NTL 200) and find that the login details have changed no longer is it root / root. Anyone experiencing the same? Anyone aware of the new credentials.

As nothing could be changed on the modem that I was aware off would anyone even know of the reason for the change?

Re: Modem Password

Well, my Ambit 120 is still root/root and as I believe this is stored on the hardware itself then either someone in your family has changed it by accident or...you have an intruder on your network messing about with your settings. This might explain broadband speed loss if someone is also hijacking your connection. Pull the plug or change the security on your wireless router if you have one. If you don't have a wireless router then I have no idea.

Re: Modem Password

You can't get into the modem if you are using a proxy.

Just a thought................
