Cool Belkin wireless router problem

Hi everyone

Hope you can help me with a problem I have with my router,(Belkin Wireless G + mimo)

I have a home network consisting of 3 server machines and 1 Laptop and 2 desktop pcs,all running through a Smoothwall machine and a gigabit switch,
I have had no trouble at all untill I got my laptop (running vista) and my belkin wireless router,if I connect the laptop directly to one of the 4 wired network connections I can access both my network and the internet,
if I use the wireless connection I can only get internet but not the network, the main cable comes into the house and into the cable modem,a network cable comes from the modem to the router no probs wireless works fine i can get internet wired or wireless, when I connect the network cable into the second wired port on the router that goes to my network in the loft (smoothwall machine and switch) I can no longer get the internet on any of those machines in the network.

anyone have any ideas please?

regards

Tel

Re: Belkin wireless router problem

Can you post some sort of network layout diagram? I suspect you may be connecting things in the wrong order so that your wireless network and thus router is outside of the network being protected by the smoothwall machine.

I don't use smoothwall protection but does your network in fact need to be:
modem <> smoothwall <> router <> switch if you need it <> PCs / laptop (wired or wireless)
