Angry HELP Needed! About Moving House with Virgin

Hello everyone,

I am posting a thread here for some advice and help.

I am planning to move house to Luton, currently I got Virgin service package Phone + Broadband M in a cable area.

Today, virgin phoned me if I was moving with Virgin, I should get a BT line in my new address then call back to virgin, they will connect my service after BT installation.

My problem is, I was with BT but transfer BT service to Virgin. When I transferred my currently number to Virgin, I was never told I should handle all these by myself if moving to a noncable area. I am afraid if I move to the new address BT will probably charge me extra 125 pounds for reconnection or installation, that will be unfair because I have paid in the old address before transfer service to Virgin. I though Virgin should be able to transfer all service for me, but currently I need to do it myself and double charged by BT on installation fee.

I have talked with BT, they answeared if I move this number to the new address I need to be with BT for at least 12 month PLUS they will check if I have to pay 125 pounds at the new address.

Why Virgin can not do these for me? I am using Virgin phone and broadband service. If I stay with BT for 12 month, then according to Virgin Contract, I will still need to pay virgin landline rental in the left periode of contact.

Does anyone have the same experiences like mine, or is there anybody know what to do?

I will appreciate your help and suggestions.

Thanks .

Jane

Moved to INSTALLATION ISSUES, also the duplicate thread posted has been removed.

I take it then that the new address in Luton isn't in a cabled enabled street?? If so then VM can only supply you with internet via a BT landline (ADSL)

I checked on Virgin Web, it is cable area, but customer service told me I should move to ADSL service. And you know my phone was previously with BT, if I know I need to handle all these by myself, I probably should not tranfer from BT to virgin.

I'm not certain what you believe the problem to be here - are you suggesting you're going to be out of pocket because someone previously has misled you or mis-sold you something, or are you just complaining about the hassle factor of transferring service to a new address?
