Xbox Live - Set Up
Hi,
As part of the repair service from Microsoft, they've given me a one month subscription to Xbox live (Gold).
I'm currently running the PC via the Ethernet on a BT Hub, so I was wondering if I can connect my wireless receiver to the 360? That's how I was running the PC wirelessly, so I assume that it'd just be a case of plugging the reciever into the 360 and picking up the wireless signal from the Hub.
If anyone can either confirm or deny this, I'd be muchly grateful

Sorry, but i'm almost certain you'll need an actual Xbox 360 Wireless Adaptor. Either that, or just use ethernet cable.

Re: Xbox Live - Set Up
A wireless bridge would also be an option instead of using the MS USB wireless adapter.

Re: Xbox Live - Set Up
Just the one thing AFAIK.
Basically gives wireless to a single device with an ethernet port.

Re: Xbox Live - Set Up
Hi All,
Absolutely brand new to this, and would really appreciate some assistance in setting up my Xbox live for the best possible experience.
In the same room I have my xbox (going live soon) and my PC with broadband. I am looking to get a wireless router so PC and Xbox can both run. Can anyone recommend the best router for this please ?
Also do I need anything that will attach to the Xbox?
Please can anyone help on this, bit of a mindfield at mo.
Thank you for any help please!

 To Cable Forum
What broadband have you got? Are you on cable? If you are on cable most users here have recommended the Linksys WRT54G wireless broadband router.
You will need the official wireless adapter from Microsoft aswell. These can range in price depending where you get it from.

Normally they just join 2 physical network segments over wireless so in effect, should allow a switch and as many devices connected as the bandwidth available over the Wireless link will handle

Re: Xbox Live - Set Up
Got the following PM from new cable forum user Marty1 and I've posted my reply aswell. I've done this because it looks like he's using ADSL broadband which I've never had myself and I'm hoping that other users might be able to help on this side of things? Cheers in advance.

Hi Neon
Thanks for the reponse on the forum! Much appreciated.
I have Tiscali Broadband up to 8meg (never get), so is that model you quoted Linksys WRT54G wireless broadband router, still the best?
Also, why do I need the official wireless adapter from Microsoft? Is this the headset? Does this plug straight into the Xbox?
Sorry for the stupid questions, but this would really help me?
Thank you

Hello
If you want to go wireless you will need a wireless adapter to plug into your xbox360. You can see one here:- http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/pro...reless_adapter
Also, if your on Tiscali you get your broadband through the phone line? This is known as ADSL, I did a quick search and this came up for a wireless router, see here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-DG83.../dp/B0000TZ8Z8
I'm going to post your question and my answers on the forum so that others may give you some more advice and help.
Cheers, NEON
