Strange issues with Belkin N1 network - Pls help

Hi Guys

Hoping someone can help me out here.

I recently purchased a Belkin N1 vision router with a Belkin N1 USB stick

Running on XP i installed the USB driver from the Belkin Website. Seems like i have to use the Belkin Wireless software as the Windows wireless platform gets locked out.

Anyway, the strange thing is that my PC with the USB stick always picks up 1 bar of reception and sometimes it doesnt even find my router. It does locate it and gives full bars of reception when i click refresh a few times. Sometimes i even have to disconnect the usb stick and place it in again. So basically everytime i bootup it doesnt auto-connect like it should do and i have to manually connect it even though as soon as its conencted ive got full bars.

The other strange thing is that when connected and surfing, i keep losing conenction. The Belkin wireless facility says im still conencted and the display map of internet to router and router to PC is good. I cant even log onto the Belkin setup page when this happens. So the only way to get it back up and working again is to disconnect wireless and to reconnect it again. Once again having to hit refresh and poss unplug the USB stick. But when connected im away with full speed. So doesnt seem to be a router issue (or may not be)

I also noticed that on my laptop (macbook using XP bootcamp) that when conencted to the same N1 vision router, i keep getting the message popup in systray "connected to XXXX". Does this mean that im losing connection and reconnecting? But bottom line is im still connected and can still surf away.
Whereas the PC cannot reconnectand i have to either:

1) Go into Network properties to disable wireless and re-enable
2) Disconnect USB stick and replcae
3) reboot

Ive already updated the firmware on the router as well

So if anyone can provide any assistance it would be great. Getting more and more confused by it everyday.

Many Thanks

I would try using a differnet frequency or channel, it looks like it could be an interference issue.

it appears the Belkin N1 USB stick driver is a mess looking at the many reports online, perhaps you can swap it out for a Belkin N1 PCi card as that doesnt seem to have the same problems.
