Philips SLV3220 Wireless TV Link - IR RC query
Hi all,
I have finally managed to get my 2nd TV working in another room and have purchased a Philips SLV3220 Wireless TV Link which provides a top picture and sound, am delighted with it! However the Remote sender works only spasmodically irelevant of where I position the blaster infront of the STB, a Samsung one.
Can any one throw any light on this as it has spoilt an other wise brilliant resolution to my original problem. I have found in frustration that throwing the remote at the wall doesn't help either...
Thanks...

Re: Philips SLV3220 Wireless TV Link - IR RC query
Sounds like the sender is picking up interference, either infrared or RF.
IR interference could come from any of these: Plasma or LCD TVs, fluorescent or energy-saving bulbs, fish tanks(!) or direct sunlight.
RF interference can come from any device that uses the same frequency band, such as wireless LANs
try to identify the source, then move things around to make the problem go away.
Also try moving the blaster some distance from the STB or not pointing the remote directly at the sender. Sometimes the blaster sends a signal that is too strong.

Cheers for that, will give it a try. Also I noticed something else tonight! The channels are changing on their own in the fasion that it is obviously someone else 'surfing' the channels!!!! Really spooky.. My favourites have changed also... I live in a semi detatched if that makes any difference...
Ghosts in the machine or what...

Oh yeah, it could be a neighbour with a similar sender. Can you select a different RF channel on the sender?

Didn't know anyone about me had cable! But the secret is out...
Will mess with the sender/receiver over htweekend but it is doing my head in.
I have none of the list equipment around the the send/rec. so makes interfeering signals difficult to identify and detect.

I have just bought this product also, does it work well and will it work with Telewest Cable boxes?

Re: Philips SLV3220 Wireless TV Link - IR RC query
Works great for the picture and sound but the 'magic eye' remote di not work on the Samsung Box. Have since changed it for a AEI DigiSender X2 which is better but the remote signal has a delay which then throws a load of info at the box remotedly and it goes mental! Am going to change to Sky I think as it seems to be the only this problem can be over come for me. But it does seem that problems is only on Samsung Silver Cable boxes!
Good luck.

Re: Philips SLV3220 Wireless TV Link - IR RC query
Well I gave it a go, after a short while I was receiving pictures and sound without a problem except when using a wireless laptop, which did cause interference. However the Telewest (silver) remote does not work through the receiver on TV 2, therefore I could not change channels etc. I think I will be taking it back to the shop, as it does not do what it says on the tin.
Would anyone know of another product I could try?

Ok found some small print.
"This product will relay signals for content providers but note that the product will not operate remote control IrDA signals of set-yop boxes providing NTL or Telewest cable TV services; remote control signals of SKY set top boxes"
This is becuase they want you to purchase their boxes, for a monthly fee.
