Hi all, went to see WWW last night at Radio Metro Arena, not my choice but the better half won tickets. Anywho, half to three quarters the way through the concert they did a bit of patter and the drummer ( Tam IIRC ) starts telling everyone about the new single due to be released. A number appeared on a big screen and he asked people to text the word Newcastle to the number to receive the single. Of course, a LOT of people did, only to be met with a reply telling them that the text had already cost them £1.50, and that the song was only being released Feb 4th and to follow a url to it

Now I'm not tight, and I'm not saying that people wouldn't have text the number, all I'm saying is that a notice telling people the cost and ins and outs would have in order.
I'm not sure how many people were there, at a guess / ballpark figure, I would say about 5,000, if half of them text that's and extra £3750 on top of admission ( starting from £32.50 I think ) £3750, what did we do, produce / market and distribute it for them
I really hope that someone in the know sees this / can pass it on, a lot of people felt the same as I do. If the powers that be do see this, sort it out, warn people, most will still want to do it, but with no nasty surprises
