Laptop RAM

I have this laptop upstairs, and I was just wondering how I would be able to check how much RAM it could take. I've tried Crucial, but that doesn't say for some reason. Is there any alternatives?

Thanks,

Craig

Re: Laptop RAM

well its a newish laptop so should take 2gb. but dont quote me on that as Emachines are quite often nasty in upgrading.

It's an EI-System. I can't find anywhere on the internet that says how much it can take.

use SIW to scan it...

But don't believe the number of ram slots it tells you physically look yourself since it will tell how many it thinks there should be, but it doesn't necessarily mean the OEM actually fitted all the possible the slots to the board.

Re: Laptop RAM

RAM in laptops is normally easy to physically see.
There is normally a flap underneath with a screw. The RAM modules just slot in underneath.

If its the ones where that is the case its usually very easy to see/change

its when its under the keyboard or under something else then its a right pain the backside.
