Have you had a look at Crucial www.crucial.com/uk/index.aspx they have a system scanner and a memory advisor.

I've only ever bought memory online from the uk crucial, it has always been sent special delivery at no extra cost - the only disadvantage is you have to be 'in' to sign for it being delivered.

Re: Cheap good 2 gig ram for pc gaming

if its DDR you need then this could do the trick

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(6382)G...DR-memory.aspx

2gb of ddr 3200 @ £61.09 so add another £3.50 for P&P and you got 2 gb for under 70 quids

Yes the dual VSTA does take both and it would make sense to buy DDRII for re-usability value.

ditto running in my macbook

I've had cheap ram thats been fine but equally i've had a fair bit of bad ram using the generic stuff.

Bought crucial for my last upgrade TBH, Its not That much more expensive than the cheap stuff and its more likely to work properly and if you use their memory selector tool they will guarantee it to work with your system

It is worth paying that little bit extra to get crucial ram.
Although i think corsair ram is quite good stuff to.

Good OCZ deal this week on Overclockers. 62 notes for a pair of 6400. Worth a look:

as long as you never have to send it back you won't have a problem.

(maybe i was just unlucky but I had the worst time possible sending faulty ram back to aria )

It'll only support DDR2 (and AM2 CPU's) via a daughter board, which is almost as big as the mobo itself and seem to be quite rare now.

<edit> Found a pic just to show the daughter board (dobo? ) in all it's huuuugeness, here.
</edit>
