Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

My 2nd STB of Samsung 2110C has twice this week failed to come out of standby mode forcing a reboot.

Is this a common problem?

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

I couldn't wake it up using the remote or by pressing the buttons on the box, only pulling out the power and rebooting worked?

The little green light blinked on the box so the remote was talking to it but it just didn't want to wake up, I must have got a very lazy and sleepy box

Maybe it got an update overnight and needed rebooting...? I don't know... my box has been fine.

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

I always put it in standby at night via remote and then turn it on next day via remote, is this not recommended? I've never left it on overnight unlike the V+ I have.

I've just had a PM from someone offering to diagnose it remotely next time it stays in standby, I'd like to keep putting it in standby until it fails to wake up then I can get it diagnosed remotely and see what the outcome is.

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

Seen that a few times - been out to a sub who's 2110 is jammed in standby. A power cycle usually clears it - though doesn't stop it reoccuring.

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

Done it again! Just about to watch the cricket and it won't wake up.

PM'd the nice chap who offered to troubleshoot it for me and he's looking into it, so waiting for his diagnosis, meanwhile the box has to stay in standby while he does this.

*EDIT* Just had a PM, box was stuck in standby and was brought out remotely, but still had to reboot as no sound and remote would not respond. Told not to put it in standy until the new update has been applied, bug database was updated with this fault.

@Nedkelly: Will see what happens tomorow when the box is left on whether it's still working.

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

My update, Nottingham, is scheduled for first week in May so have to wait till then to see if the update has fixed it, not sure when your update is steve?

According to the PM I got my version should change from 3_5L_01_P08N_S_S2110 to 3_5L_01_P11N_S_S2110 after the update.

We shall wait and see.

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

Is your box version P11N though? Not sure what the new EPG is supposed to do really, I have the black VM EPG so not sure if I've got the new EPG and box update is something different or the same as the EPG.

@Nedkelly: Seems after leaving the box on overnight I had to reboot it as the EPG had loads of 'No Programme Information' displayed for a lot of programs and I couldn't access the 'Change Display & Audio Settings' from the settings option?

Re: Sammy 2110 staying standby mode?

Mine would lock up in Standby or even if I left it on 24-7.

Mine got the update this morning to P11N and 11.1.8.2.

Going off what you saying... It looks as if i have a smiler problem, as yours apart from when i reboot mine, i will have a red light randomly flashing for about 2 mins before it's fully booted up, i have got someone out from VM to come and have a look at it.

I just hope i don' get it switched for a pace as i've had a few problems with these sort of boxes.
