Doctor prescribes an Exorcism.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/surrey/6284688.stm
A woman, who visited her doctor for a contraceptive injection also mentioned that she had experienced pain and bleeding. Upon examining her, the doctor told her that she had something moving inside her, and that she has a flabby stomach that moved and wasn't normal. She also added that there was black magic inside.
This is when she prescibed "Christian" Holy water (the patient is Muslim, so this is possibly an insult), and told the patient she should see a priest, read from a battered bible , said prayers over her stomach and gave her stones and wooden crosses to ward off evil..

Re: Doctor prescribes an Exorcism.
I think the Doctor has been 'self medicating' certain psychotic drugs.

This looks like a serious case of Nominative Determinism

Re: Doctor prescribes an Exorcism.
Or is it a patient trying to make money. Unless there is written evidence or other complaints its one persons word against another. Cant believe this made it into the media, looks like someone was desperate for a story.

Re: Doctor prescribes an Exorcism.
The one fact I find really annoying is that the person making the allegations has her name protected and the Doctors name is not while the case is ongoing.

I find that annoying with every single case.
Until a verdict has been found, especially in criminal cases, the identities of those involved should be kept secret.
I do find it interesting that the doctor will not be attending the tribunal, nor sending legal representation.

Re: Doctor prescribes an Exorcism.
"Dr Pratt is also alleged to have failed to co-operate with inquiries into her behaviour by her manager and the primary care trust.
The doctor chose not to attend the hearing or provide herself with any legal representation."
Smells fishy to me.
