any thoughts greatly received

hi clever people (i hope)
had a fault today, heres the circumstances (still not resolved)
sub had standard V box scarted into TV and scarted into DVD recorder.no problems recording from cable (i viewed recordings from old V box so i know theres no probs there) V+ migration takes place, now, when sub goes to DVD recorder to view and record cable (as he did prior to upgrade without any probs) all he gets is audio and blue screen, all the install tech did was to diss the existing scarts and recon them in the correct way to the V+ box.im thinking voltage on the scarts missing each other or something like that, but i cant for certain (without proof) tell the sub 'sorry but theres a compatability issue'
come on sirius,your a prof!!

Did he swap the scarts around, ie top to bottom, and bottom to top as they are reversed on V+.
or content protection?

Re: any thoughts greatly received

Could be wrong input impedance on the DVD. Is it a Goodmans by any chance? If so I can supply modified SCART leads to fix it.

What model STB did they have before?

Did you try connecting the VCR SCART to the TV to check the V+ output and cable? Or connecting it with the DVD between the V+ and the TV?

Re: any thoughts greatly received

I think it may be one of those faults/issues which can only be fixed by being there my self. (other than spending the next 4 hours offering possible solutions). It sounds like the scarts need to be connected in a non conventional way and/or tv/dvd options may need changing on the DVD player as not to loop through the DVD player.
Several of many possible solutions where the only answer is to play with it 'till it works!!!
