Cassettes finally dead?
Some of us need to keep using them until the talking book world catches up at any rate
In the meantime - here's 10 uses for your old tapes.

Re: Cassettes finally dead?
I still have a few tapes. Not many, but a few and some VHS tapes as well.
I need to convert them some time soon, but I always put it off to another day.

Moooooooooooooooooobs! (Man Boobs)
Back in 82 when we got our BBC B with disk drive monitor stand, one of our neighbours asked why we wasted money on disk drives when "tapes would be around forever"

Must have been the sort who enjoyed waiting 10 minutes for a 16k program to load from tape then seeing it crash at the last moment.

I've lots of off-air recordings from the '70's-'80's on cassette which I must get around to digitizing, mostly 'in concert' folk stuff which was never commercially released. I still keep a VHS video player for copying tapes friends have of their children etc, it hasn't been used to record anything for over a year now.
