V+ Box Installed Today
Hi All
Virgin Mediaman called today to install my V+ box. Install was very prefessional, he set it up well and explained most everything, didn't take it all in of course but I'm sure that with a bit of playing with it I will learn.
PQ better than I expected, recording seems easy and the playback quality is the same as live TV.
On the subject of the "On demand" programms, I only seem to have four channels available, BBC channels, 4 on demand, Living and Bravo. No ITV, is this normal or will I get more channels later?
Otherwise, first impressions, very good.
Gordon

Re: V+ Box Installed Today
Had mine installed on Wednesday. Very happy with it although picture quality from my samsung box is better. Although the service i recieved was very good, the box is much noisier than i ever imagined (seems to vibrate alot, had to blue tack to the glass table, stop it moving) and menus are a bit slow for my liking. I'm sure it'll improve.

Re: V+ Box Installed Today
User 2006, my experience is just the opposite to yours, my box is whisper quiet. The only noise I can hear is a very faint hard drive sound, and that is only when I put my ear close to the box and have the TV on mute.
The reasons for the "slow" menus is aparently when you change channels it has to delete the cache that it would need to pause live TV, and then switch it to the next channel. I find the "Red Button" menu a tad slow, compaired to my built in freevew on the TV, and it isn't as crisp, but since I don't use the red button a lot, it doesn't bother me.
I would get in touch with CS and complain about the noise, it should not be that bad.
One question for the experts, when I playback a recording and I stop it (say) half way through wanting to watch the rest later, can I resume from where I stopped watching?, mine seems to go back to the beggining.
Otherwise I am delighted with the system. :
Gordon.

Yes you can, when you select to watch it you should get a black box pop-up. Scroll right untill you go to "Last Viewed" and it will start it from where you left off.
