Re: TV on/off
You can do this with the volume by going to Home > Help and Info > Something about remote at the bottom > first option to find your tv codes > go back > set volume.
something like that.

Re: TV on/off
Our NTL Remote turns our TV on and off no problems (Just press * Power on the remote together once you have it programmed to set volume)

Is there anyway my Virgin Remote can also make a cup of tea, take the dog for a walk, and get me a beer out of the fridge?

I would settle for it to turn my channels over and the box to work properly

Re: TV on/off
There may be a way that you can re programme your V+ remote to switch off your TV - though (most probably) to put it into standby as opposed to completely off . I know that the bog standard VM remotes can be programmed so it may be worth a try.
Ring 151 to get into the VM tv Faults line. Explain you problem to the technician and (if you're lucky) he may be able to give you a code (for your particular make of TV), which you can use to re programme your remote.
It know that it works with the normal remotes as I've used the same process to mute and set the volume control on my (Panasonic) TV.
Worth a try and you've nowt to lose ;0)

There isn't. You can with the standard remotes but not the V+ one.
It's either rubbish design or eco-friendly.

Re: TV on/off
Ah! you must have gone through this procedure, so I guess your response is based upon personal experience?
Oh well life's a bitch!
