I'm hoping someone on here will be able to help me. I've been without a phone now for nearly 4 weeks. I've spent many many minutes (verging on hours) on my mobile phone to VM and have arranged 4 engineer visits (which have meant me taking 2 days off work) and on each occasion no-one has shown up.
I have tried a new phone and that is not the answer. Last week I had a strange dial tone (almost like 2 different staggered dial tones) but was unable to make or receive calls. As of today I have no tone whatsoever. I am at the end of my tether with this and see no point in calling VM again as they'll just arrange another engineer appointment to which no-one will turn up.
Today I called BT to try and switch to them and they told me that since there is no record of a BT line in my property that I may have to pay £128 to get connected. I'm obviously relucant to do this so have come on here to see if anyone can help me out or if anyone knows of a way to escalate an issue within VM. I've tried on a number of occasions to speak to a manager but I'm either not allowed to speak to one or even when I do they book me appointments with engineers that don't show up!
Complain! complain! and complain!
Post in the 'virginmedia.feedback' group and ask them. There's support staff that may be able to help in there. 4 missed appointments is just taking the urine.
Cheers, have done that and hope that someone will be able to help. I just want my phone service back and can't face another 45 minutes on my mobile phone waiting for someone in India to book me another appoinment with the non existent engineer.
