Wink Just had top quality service!

Hah! Posted here a few weeks back regarding my dodgy connection (constant short outages) on the 4 mb service. Sat down and wrote a really vitriolic email to NTL/Virgin/whatever, but thought I'd try phoning, just for a laugh really. Got through after 3 rings (!!!) and was sorted out in no time - seems the old Terayon modem was losing lots of packets or something, and it was replaced in 3 days! So, credit where it's due and all that.
BUT, and here's where I'd like some help, two of the 3 computers in the house will not connect to the web now. The Belkin wireless router is working fine, the status reports on the 2 non-working pcs say the connection is working, but when I try to connect to the web, I'm getting nothing. Using firefox on all machines, but IE doesn't work either, so I'm really stumped. I hadn't* changed any settings in between old modem and new, so what gives?

*of course, I've tried a few changes since, in pure desperation, but I don't know what I'm doing, so set restore to last week on both machines, and neither will still connect to the web. I'm guessing its something really silly and embarassing, but I have no shame........

Re: Just had top quality service!

One possibility - is the connection between the router and the modem via the WAN port on the router? The sysmptoms you describe could occur is the connection was via one of the wired LAN ports.

Re: Just had top quality service!

(hangs head in shame) Yes. Happened when the engineer on the phone was sasking me to try out all sorts of things to establish if it was the router or the modem. How embarassing! Still, lesson learned eh? Plus, must re-iterate how good and quick the service was, just for balance like
