Mac codes
I have asked for a mac code from Be who have told me I must wait 28 days after the 3 months contract is up. Surely this is not right.
OFCOM are stating theymust give it to me within 5 days of me asking.
When I get my MAC code and give it to my new isp will BE then release the line to my new isp or will i have to wait still?
Thanks

Re: Mac codes

Re: Mac codes
BE as soon as you got the MAC code you have to give it to your new ISP, they will set the line up then, thought in total the whole thing is going to take 3 weeks and that includes asking for the MAC code

According to Ofcom now the mac code must be given within 5 days of the customer asking for it.

Presumably taking into account the contract terms?

Ofcom told me regardless of contract to they must give me the mac code. Any moneys outstanding can be resolved afterwards

Re: Mac codes
Yesterday I requested by email from Fast4/V21/Biscuit/Eurisp now Breathe.net my mac code, today I received by email an acknowledgement that Breathe have requested my mac code for me, keeping my fingers crossed I get it in the next few days, then I can select a decent ISP. This has been an ongoing saga for me since October last year. When, and if, I do get my mac code, I have 30 days in which to get it activated, at least that is my understanding. Hopefully I do not get disconnected from the internet in the interim, that could make it a lot more difficult for me to get a new set-up. Don't want to spend hours phoning round!
I realise this does not answer your dilemma but hope you get your problem solved Be*
