No it won't
It will only record from when you turned it over to that channel.

If you are on the channel already then you should be ok.

I wish!
Unlike any other PVR it can't do that
Like a VCR the V+ can only record from when you press 'record'
I anticipate they will address this oversight shortly after they have tracked down and flogged the designers

What if you rewind using "Live TV" to the beginning - could you record from then? I believe it keeps 90 minutes in the buffer from when you switch channels.

Re: URGENT: If I press record on V+.....
Delay TV will work from the time you switched to that channel. If you switched to the channel 35 minutes ago, you can rewind 35 minutes. If you press record it will only record (as in, kept to watch later) from that point onwards.
As mentioned the buffer is 90 minutes but I think this is only for SD channels - remember the bandwidth for an HD channel is much higher. Although I haven't tried it I would be surprised to find this goes down to 20 minutes or so fo an HD channel.
I suspect that you won't be able to record a delay-tv feed though as this the stream will be coming from the harddrive at that point rather than from the tuner. Would be quite cool if you could though!

Or so you might think - but you can't!
V+ only records from when (Live! only) you press record

Re: URGENT: If I press record on V+.....
This does seem to be a bit of a design flaw. The flow diagram should be:
1) User presses record in live TV
2) The box checks the TV guide to see when the current programme began
3) If the user changed to the current channel before the current programme started, then
a) calculate how much of the delay TV buffer needs to be copied over as a recording, or else
b) copy the entire delay TV buffer as a recording
4) Continue recording from the current point.
(so basically the box goes back to the start of the current programme if it can, or otherwise saves as much as it can)

Of course any other PVR does exactly that - so much so that partly what defines 'a PVR'
I also have my Philips which has a whoooping 6 hour buffer and i can 'retrospectively' record/keep anything that's in it (whether you change channel or not) either by marking whole programmes or setting start/end points
This isn't rocket science and if Virgin want to give me the source code i'll patch it up one afternoon when i have nothing better to do - for free - i obviously have a vested interest
