V+ Box but not VOD
I got the V+ installed this morning and I still don't have any VOD, the online light on the front of the box is constantly flashing! I called Tech and they said there is an area fault, yet VOD works fine on the samsung box we have. Anyone any ideas whats wrong?

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
For the Video on Demand to work it needs a return path (light on constantly). With the light flashing it is trying to make a connection ,you could just check the connections on the wall and on the back of the box to make sure they are tight and then restarting the box it may work.
Tell me how it goes.

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
Thanks Quam, I have done all that and I did call them again yesterday and they said they had sent another signal to the box. The light is still flashing now and this is over 24 hours after it being installed seems like something is not working somewhere. The settings thing on the box states that the return path is active, but clearly its not as there is no connection being made.
Going to have to wait till tomorrow now to call them as they are all closed on a sunday which is crap!

I have just had V+ installed (Saturday, 1600) and have this EXACT same problem - my Samsung box On Demand features worked prior to them taking it away - the settings say the return path is active, but the ONLINE light on the front is constantly flashing and no On Demand works at all - It says "If this keeps happening, call 151 and Quote 1092" - which I did (I got through to Faults on Sunday just now,) but they'd never heard of that error code!!
It has apparently been "passed upwards" and they're calling me back "sometime in the next 48 hours" !
Also, on a slightly different (?) note, occasionally when I try and pause live TV, it says "Please wait, just loading" in the bottom left, and then does nothing! I have to press TV to get rid of that message, and then switch to standby and back on again before pause will work!

I'm getting that error code as well now. Was gonna ring faults, but after reading your post I'm not sure its worth it. BTW, I have no flashing light on my V+ box. I did have EPG issues earlier today, perhaps its related to this error.
Does anyone know what Error code 1092 means? In English?
PS - I get the 'Please wait, Loading' error when trying to use Delay TV.

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
I have an engineer coming out tomorrow to fix mine, and i also get the same error code. One other thing which annoys me is that when i am watching something i have recorded and say i am fast forwarding through the adverts the thing becomes unresponsive and ignores my remote commands for ages then processes them all at once!! I hope this is something that can be sorted out soon.
My V+ seems to record ok, but on the odd time I have to reset the box to make the guide and time on the thing update as it often gets hours behind.
I thinks i might have a bit of a dodgy box?

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
Everyone in the solent region also seems to be having this problem (online light flashing, no VOD). In fact we have 2 entire threads going on the subject in teh V+ sub-forum, one on the general problem (entitled 'Is the online light supposed to be flashing on and off?) and specifically for the solent region (entitled Solent Installations)

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
Hi, well i cant find the other thread so ill post it here.
had 2 engineers come today to install the V+ box?? quite why it needed two i dunno.
Anyways asked them what the flashing blue light was, to which one said er, not sure other said he thought it was broadband (v+ boxes do not support broadband) Mentioned that id seen it on these forums that people were having problems with vod and flashing blue lights, to which one tuned to bbc1 and pressed read, and sat and waited..... and waited... and waited and then closed it saying, "well i think that is what the flashing blue light means", he assured me that it would stop flashing soon... ill give it a few days.
Just called Virgin to make sure i was infact on the VIP pack, to which the person on the phone said we cant see the V+ box on your account yet, but we will check and set it up tomorrow.
Im in the solent area, so i guess im having the same problems as everyone else.

Re: V+ Box but not VOD
I had v+ installed today and I couldn't access the home page, phoned tech no answers. I had a look at the back of the box and the scart was in the top slot rather than the bottom, all the channels worked but not the home option. I swapped it around now everything working fine
