Help: Info Req on Telewest Beta Testing

I'm trying to find out info on how Telewest carried out its beta testing of
its tv products, ie new versions of the epg.

My understanding is that beta testing was discussed via some Blueyonder
newsgroups. But I don't know which ones they are and as I'm on the ntl side,
I don't have access to BY groups to check myself.

Can anyone shed any light on how Telewest did its beta testing and where it
was all discussed?

thanks

Re: Help: Info Req on Telewest Beta Testing

A lot of the beta testing is done by staff in closed testing and sometimes select members of the public get on trials in certain areas.

Re: Help: Info Req on Telewest Beta Testing

Thanks for the reply Darth Yoda.

Quam256: The reason I'm asking is I'm part of the beta testing team for the ex-ntl side. At some point it was intended to merge the two beta test teams, ex-ntl and ex-telewest, together. But going from Darth Yoda's response and a couple of others I got, essentially Telewest have never done any public beta testing, only used staff. I have a strong feeling that this is what will now happen with the merged company going forward.

They tend to advertise it on the intranet asking if you have friends or family in certain areas that would be intrested.
