Rats Nest of cables
Hi - hope this is a good place to ask. Just been putting the tv/ntl/video back in place after decorating. Also have a skybox - cancelled subscription - using the sky box to push the tv out to other rooms in the house. Thought I'd remembered where all the cables went but....
Question is - can anyone tell me what goes into where to finally feed the ntl box (Pace) into the sky box so that it then sends the signal round the house?
Please hurry - the aligators are circling because they're deprived of the one-eyed talking god box!

Re: Rats Nest of cables
Hi - hope someone is still out there to help me. I seem to have a new problem now - it looks like I have now got a different combination of ins and outs to how it was set up before and when I select channel no7 on the tv's in the other rooms (where we used to watch ntl) theres just a load of interference. My workmate suggests it might need a new channel setting up for the video or the sky output to kill the interference. That sounded logical when he said it but now I'm not sure what he means. Can anyone explain? Am I trying to send the sky and ntl down the same channel perhaps. If thats true how do I fix that???? Please help - I wasn't popular on Sunday - now I'm the worst dad in the world!!!!!!

One more bit of info if it helps - I've just pulled out the vcr from the links and still got the interfrerence so is it a clash with the the sky box. Which is easier to change - ntl box or sky box?

Sounds like your using RF cables on the sky & ntl box to view your channels, by what your saying it seems to me that the RF output on one box is interferening with the RF output on the other box.
You can change the RF output on the NTL box and i'm sure you can on the sky box aswell, the best part of the band to tune them to is between 60-69 UHF and remember you'll have to re-tune the channel on your TV to see the picture.

Re: Rats Nest of cables
Hi - yes - using the coax cables as described above - so - any idea how I change the frequency - remember I'm a carpet fitter not a electronics wizard! Which is easier to change? The ntl box is a pace and so is the sky box.

Close but no cigar ,
You are not able to change the output freq. on pace box (NTL), these are preset to ch65. Best bet is to either change the output on $ky box and/or VCR.
You have to leave NTL on ch65, change $ky to 60 and VCR to 68 or 69 and you should miss everything

On the sky box you need to do the following
To get into the Installer Menu
Press Services
Press the four buttons below quickly
4 0 1 Select
You can do various things in this menu including changing the frequency of the RF output with option 4 (RF Outlets)
