media centre connection to Internet

I have a laptop running windows media edition.
it says i don't have a Internet connection but i do.
its wireless and work .
any ideas why it does not find it????

Go into your options for your router, something like 192.168.100.1

do u have password enabled to connect to the wireless network?

Not always. It depends on the router. My router address is 192.168.1.1 and my login certainly isn't Admin anymore!

Hes right you know. Mine is 192.168.2.1 and the default password and username arent always admin and password.

Did you enable the SSID OR did you find it enabled already?

If you did it, restart you modem and router by switching off at the wall and wait a couple mins then turn back on

My wireless did not work at first. I had to login to the router and hit "reset factory defaults" It just worked after that.
