New Router Issues

I was running the Murcury BR100 router for a good while now and due to me getting a new laptop i needed to go wireless, so i baught the Linskys WRT54GS from pc world with the speedbooster thing.

installed it all exactly to the book, i start using it and i get disconnected on adverage 1/3 times an hour really annoying! after a few seconds it re connects. also i seem to have lost some speed with this router

It's really bugging me anybody with any ideas?

**Edit im on Telewest 10mb in WF2 area**

Re: New Router Issues

How do you mean disconnect? Does it drop the connection to the router, or does it seem to drop the connection to the internet (while you're still connected to the router)

Re: New Router Issues

Regarding what Zeph said, when it disconnects, does the desktop still work?

How far are you away from the router? What does the signal strength show? Is it an Intel Pro Wireless adaptor? Do you run a TV sender or wireless phone or anything?
