Ebay Q
Just a quick question for ebay users. My brother is selling something for me under his account (he wants to sell other things but is using my item as a trial thing). He set aside £2 for P and P and the winning bid was £27. Would the buyer have to pay £27 inc P and P or £29?.

Re: Ebay Q
The buyer usually pays for the postage so you should get £29

£29 if you have stated £2 P & P in the advert

Re: Ebay Q
£29 total, but it should state on the auction how much p&p was going to be.

Re: Ebay Q
What would be considered a good time to wait for payment?. The payment option is through paypal of which i have no experience with, and the bidder hasn't paid yet according to my brother.

Re: Ebay Q
It all depends on the buyer and wether they are online very often. Contact the winner and set a target date of payment by (insert date here) but unless you stated you wanted payment within a pre-set time you can't really moan as some buyers can take up to a week to contact you. Have you or your brother not read through the Ebay FAQs?

Paypal give 7 days before allowing you to open a dispute.
I'd send a polite reminder after 3 or 4 days if they haven't been in touch at all since the item ended.

i've not read the faq, but i assumed my brother did before he listed the item on ebay. The guy has replied quickly to ebay messages, and I think my brother told me the user has also bought other things from other people the days after our own item ended and he has feedback from the seller saying quick payment. So not to sure if theres a misunderstanding or error somewhere or something else.

Tell your brother to email the buyer and ask if he's tried to pay, and double check the paypal account to make sure it's not pending as an e-cheque.
If it's the first time your brother has sold he will need to verify as a seller on Paypal before he can accept instant payments by getting a Premier account: https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/we...utside#premier

Re: Ebay Q
Thanks for the assistance. Turns out the buyer sent it to the wrong address (brother didn't update his paypal account details and asked the buyer to use another email addy of his).
Turns out he already has a premier account, so that was quickly ruled out, but wouldn't have sussed the problem if it wasn't for the pending payment in green on the ebay listing page.
