Question Remote access to Outlook Express

How can I access my Outlook Express account to check/send messages whilst I am on holiday in the USA?

Re: Remote access to Outlook Express

Hi and

It really depends on what your mail server has to offer.. and whether you want to access the mail that has been downloaded onto your PC.

If your mail server supports IMAP then it's probable that most of you mail is on the server.

Do the NTL Mail Servers support IMAP?

Re: Remote access to Outlook Express

to the site.

Best thing to use is http://www.mail2web.com

Its a webmail interface that you can use to check any email account (POP3 or IMAP).

You can't really remotely access Outlook Express. You need another program (Microsoft Exchange, I think) to do that, and its costly.

So does ntl's (webmail requires it), but it's not supported or documented.

Re: Remote access to Outlook Express

imap.ntlworld.com is a valid DNS entry and works a treat with Thunderbird (and prob OE).

They used to for reading new mail on imap.ntlworld.com - I think the webmail uses this.

You should not be able to send though - but you could use google's gmail, or whatever email server you are allowed to use depending on the ISP you use to connect though.

Re: Remote access to Outlook Express

For info of others, IMAP is an available function and as already stated imap.ntlworld.com is also live and working.

Thanks from me anyway, I'm sorted.
