ATX Power supplies?

Some of you might remember a short while ago my asking about HTPC cases. Well the case has now arrived and I'm in the process of shifting the contents from the old Packard Bell case into the new shiney Thermltake Bach case .

Problem: Packard Bell used a slightly non-standard PSU with a stonking great fan on the bottom so it doesn't fit the new case

I was looking at this one from Maplin so that I can finish off the transfer today.

Any opinions on that or others would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the Slough area BTW if people know of better PSUs/suppliers.

Thanks again!
Keith

Re: ATX Power supplies?

Looks like it'll do the trick to me as long as the case supports a standard ATX power supply size

Re: ATX Power supplies?

The case supports standard sizes (it will support a fullsize ATX board) - it's just the original PSU with that fan on the bottom.

I'll take a trip down there and grab it - looks to have a number of helpful extras on it (http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/mainp...asp?generic=02) and it's on offer at the moment too

I have 2 of those, well, i did. They're really good power supplies, i had 2 of the 450w ones at £20 each when they last had them on sale. One was sold with my old pc, and the other was sold to a friend. Never had a problem with them.
