Odd PC gamepad problem

Hi, I recently modded an Xbox controller into a PC controller by doing a bit of soldering.

After installing the drivers, the pad works fine in the pad config utility (that assigns xbox buttons to "number buttons", and works fine in the control panel gamepad section.

However, when I am in a game, any button that I have assigned to button 12 or more does not work. If I assign the button that does not work to a number below button 12, that button works, and the one that is button 12 or over does not work in the game, despite working in the control panel and in the pad setup utility.

Any ideas? Is this just games developers being lazy and not including support for more than 11 buttons on gamepads (which i highly, highly doubt), or can anyone else shed some light on the problem?

Re: Odd PC gamepad problem

Why didn't you just buy a wired Xbox 360 controller?

I got one and Windows automatically detects and installs the drivers.

Microsoft are working on the wireless one so that it does the same.

Re: Odd PC gamepad problem

Why didn't I buy a '360 controller?

1. Because I didn't want to.
2. Cost of converting 2 old xbox controllers = £0
Cost of buying 2 '360 controllers = £36 (from Play.com)

Anyway, this isn't answering my question...
