Re: Nvidia expected to launch Geforce 8800 on 8 November

ATI's new cards from what ive read float my boat. The R600 core is based somewhat on the Xenos xbox 360 chip.Obviously with direct x 10 support it will be a lot more advanced. The main point with this is whats called unified shader pipelines meaning each shader can can act as either a pixel shader or vertex shader depending on the demands of the game. There will be 64 of these 32 texture maps and 32 render points making this something to make me rise . The G80 core (nvidias) will have shader model 4 support again this is with vista in mind. The main problem with this core is the die size of 90nm the ATI 80 dropping to 65 by Q2.

Obviously until both these cards are marketed we will not know whats gonna be top however im putting my money on ATI with AMD behind them and no chance of AMD usurping Intel in the cpu market till 2008 at the earliest they will want to be top dog somehere
