Laptop battery question

Hi, i was wondering if anyone can help with a problem i have with the battery in my laptop. Its only a week old, and i mainly just use it always on ac power with the battery in it which is fully charged. i have noticed that after a day or so being turned on the battery level drop from 100% to 99%, although the icon on the bottom right doest show its charging, but when i click it inside there it says 99%. Today, i noticed that it now says 98%. the only way to make it go up to 100% again it to uplug the cable and plug it in again, and it show the charge icon and goes back up to 100% again. i was wondering if there is possibly a fault with the laptop or the battery, coz as its so new i will take it back etc. or maybe its normal, im not sure, if anyone can help that would be great. thanks.

Re: Laptop battery question

Clever ;laptops will not constantly keep a charging the battery, but instead keep them at around 98% this is to prolong the life of the battery.

I would assume this is what your model is doing..
