Netguard - Any Good?
It seems pretty good for a freebie but I'm after a bit of feedback from those here who use it prior to downloading. Pro's and Con's anyone?

I have it installed on my kids PC seems pretty good so far very stable and no resource hogger, either it even managed to pick up some stuff that both norton and avast managed to miss.

Well a reason for your comments about it would be nice I run it on the laptop and have no problem with it so far, but then we are behind a router so it has little to do. Might get it installed on a PC with a direct connection at some point to really test it.

I have it installed..Is it any good ??..Who knows..When/If I get a virus I will say it is no good..Till then it is doing its job..Updates with no problems..I would imagine the only time you know if it is working is when it is too late !!

Re: Netguard - Any Good?
its no good for me becuase it needs you to be connected to NTL to update, and sometimes if im away from home i use another isp with my laptop which means i wouldn't be able to update it pity really.
it would be nice if it let you update though another ISP but make you login using your ntl email account or something so they could tell you were an NTL customer.
and my desktop runs xp64 so i can't install it on that.

A few weeks ago I had a problem with my machine, I couldn't connect to the internet, could not send Emails, after a call to Tech Support in Wales they told me get rid of Netguard because it was causing trouble to peoples machines, I uninstalled it while he was on the phone and whala we have internet, we have Emails That's why I won't use it again, I'll stick to AVG.

Re: Netguard - Any Good?
And the firewall is seriously restricted in what it can do SP2 has updates which increase the security of the PC and decrease some of the holes that allow easy infection but as Dragon says it does NOT have a built in AV system.

Re: Netguard - Any Good?
How did you check and prove that Netguard wasn't protecting the second account that you switched to?
