Question MP3 player with AA batteries

Hello there,

After some advice.
Looking for an MP3 player, something like a 4/6GB Ipod mini, but one that uses normal AA/AAA rechargable batteries.
I know you can get add-on battery packs for the Ipod mini that take AA batteries, but thats another box to carry around.

Is there such a device?
I'm always put off by things that use their own kind of battery, due to cost to replace, and if it runs out of juice you can't just pop a new set of batteries in.

Cheers
Mike

Re: MP3 player with AA batteries

Most non-branded MP3 players should use standard batteries. Also, several branded ones do. Some of Sony's MP3 players do, for instance. Try http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProdu...etwork+Walkman

Re: MP3 player with AA batteries

I have the one Stu's mentioned and I highly recommend it. It takes AAA batteries and does 70 hours one one battery using ATRAC or 50 hours using MP3.

Does it have to be a HDD based player?

I've just bought a SD/MMC based player for £18.50 including P&P and a 512MB Memory Card for about £22 which runs off a single AAA battery and a set of rechargeables is also pretty cheap.

You could do 2MB for the same sort of price as an Ipod mini without a problem (and without the risk of losing the HDD if you dropped it!)

Re: MP3 player with AA batteries

Ta for your replies.

Doesn't have to be HDD player, was just looking for something with more capacity than the 256MB one I currently have.

@Stuart & Shaun
I've seen that one before, does look rather good, but price does seem a bit steep, very close to HDD players.

@Gharam
Now thats something I didn't think about, and someone here at work has got that same player, it's one way to look at, ta.
