Nobel Peace Prize

...goes to the IAEA and Mohammed el Baradei. Must drop a line to my first girlfriend, who works there.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize

What the hell peace has he achieved? His failure and the failure of his cronies led to the Iraq war. Iran is about to restart nuclear production, probably resulting in nuclear weapons and a war over it. North Korea is still hell bent on nuclear weapons, after talks have broken down again so that's possibly another war there.

There are more nuclear weapons now than ever before. In ten years time, we will have possibly 2 more more nations with nuclear weapons. Who has he disarmed? Whose peace has he effected?

Crazy, absolutely bloody crazy. A more logical choice would have been the leader of the Stop The War Coalition, who led the world's biggest mass protest from Britain, to actually try and stop a war. At least they changed attitudes, even though they didn't change the result.

Or how about Martti Ahtisaari.

At least he actually acieved something. Giving el Baradei an award for peace is like giving someone a GCSE because they turned up.
