Do NTL have any plans to fix digital?

My Pace box rarely shows the EPG and the red button I assume should do more than just lock the box up and ensure I have to pull the plug and reboot the box in order to change channel?

Do NTL have plans to fix the digital service?

I'm on Langley (3.1 according to the know you version thread) if it matters.

Don't press the red button - press the 'interactive' button - mine doesn't usually lock up.

Ah, OK I'll try that and the EPG?

This has been going on for YEARS now, it's pretty pathetic IMHO.

YES is the short answer.

The new VOD software is very good... red button works on BBC all the time, EPG is pretty steady.

so watch out over the next few months.....

Re: Do NTL have any plans to fix digital?

Loss of interactive ,picture, freezing, ect is normally caused by loose or bad connections or,more often, bad signal levels. The is nothing wrong with the digital service 90% of the time. The other 10% is bad installs. The Network techs work long & hard to ensure as good a service as possible.Until we get rid of Analog fully, were restricted by bandwidth.#

"coming soon" like the volume, like the text, like the sound fix, like the scart fix, like the broadband upgrade (unless YOU call them), etc etc...

So, given that there IS something wrong with my digital service 90% of the time, should I call NTL?

Last time I did that they swapped the box out and it did nothing

Re: Do NTL have any plans to fix digital?

A-Did the engineer use a meter to check the levels at the end of the cable?
B-or did he just bung the box in?
IF the answer is B,call NTL.! Just swapping the box wont fix the fault if the levels are off.

Go forth & Call NTL!
The problems you describe are (as already mentioned) normally a result of poor installation, dodgy box or incorrect signal levels.
