Re: Obselete tech website
1982 - Sinclair ZX-Spectrum. My first 'puter. Games came on cassette and had to be "played" to load them. I remember one game, Ground Zero I think it was called, where you had to drop bombs on skyscrapers from a plane that flew lower and lower. If you didn't bomb the skyscrapers in time, you flew straight into them. Methinks this game would be frowned upon these days
I still have the Spectrum but it doesn't display anything on screen - video chip must have died.

That game was originally called "Bomber" I believe on the Commodore VIC20 and I (yes me!) wrote a version for the gameboy!!!
Edit: Might have been called Blitz (play online here: http://plus4.emucamp.com/minus4j/b/blitz16.htm)

That's it! I can still remember the game sounds, and the little pilot landed his plane and did a victory roll. You could play the game until it crashed
Ah - happy days.

I recognised a few we cleared out of the attic at school. Then again I can remember cards and paper tape.

lol - tell me about it, I used to spend hours typing in machine code listings from 'Crash' & 'Your Sinclair' - the listings often used to be scans of ZX printer output, really easy to confuse a b with a 6, for example or a B with an 8 in uppercase - oh the fun
