NTL on BBC Wales' X-Ray right now....

...as title....more to follow.

2 people cancelled their dial-up service to go over to broadband, ntl continued to take a monthly subscription from both of them, taking a total of £300 from each person's credit cards.

Another woman cancelled BB and her phone line last december, ntl continued to bill her. All 3 people kept being told it would be sorted but nothing happened. The first person was offered a third of her £300 back, the second guy was offered half.

6 other people contacted the programme with similar complaints. They all got nowhere until X-Ray stepped in. Naturally ntl subsequently 'apologised' and sorted them all out, adding they were investing "£1 00 million" in to their customer services and also changing the way people take up broadband to avoid mistakes.

All the usual from ntl in my opinion, closing the gate after the horse has bolted.

Re: NTL on BBC Wales' X-Ray right now....

Same happened here, they kept taling DD until they owed me £120. I managed to get it sorted so I thought, but they co**ed it up and I owed them £15. They of course didn't ever bother to tell me and instead put it in the hands of a debt collection agency 12 months later.

My girlfriend has just had a load of trouble with them, we were talking to a friend still working for ntl who told her "that sort of thing doesn't happen in ntl anymore" I said "I bet you have problems"

Some ntl employees on this site have always been fond of quoting the data protection act to cover their failures, this case however is the reverse. My GF's housemate had an ntl account, she is moving out to her boyfriends house in an area where there's no cable. I know theres no cable in the street but ntl are insisting there is, and she has to pay the full 12 month contract.

She decided without consulting my GF to transfer the account to her name, my GF has been told she has to sign the DD form she has been sent or she will be in arrears. She has spent hours on the phone and always gets a different attitude depending who she speaks to, I have told her not to worry about it. She has never had an ntl account and has never signed anything, the dodgy housemate tried to offload the problem onto her.

One person she got to speak to in ntl said "Dont sign it whatever you do" a few others have told her she has to!

I dont think ntl has really altered that much, when they screw up they really do it big time. If the customer is genuine the frustration they receive is never worth taking the service to start with.

Yeah, I'm still paying each month for the international call plan... despite having cancelled my phone line with ntl many months ago. Every month I have to call 'em back and moan.

Well, if the people featured in the programme were indeed Welsh then they aren't billed on Harmony
