Tv drive and surround sound

I have just had my telewest stb replaced with tv drive.
When it was installed the scart cables remained as it was previously and just plugged back into the tv drive.
The tv drive is in AV1 and my surround sound in AV2. But i cannot get any sound from my tv or surround unit.
Any ideas anyone?

I have it working with Stereo phono leads linked to the surround unit, but it is bugging me why it would not work through the scart, as it was fine with the stb.

has your surround sound amp got a optical port?... if it has you could link the TVDrive to the amp by that route, and then you get true dolby pro logic, and sometime this year (april I think) some programs maybe in 5.1 surround sound (Dolby Digital).

I really cant think why you are getting no audio from your tv or surround sound, unless its a loose/damaged wire.

No there is no optical port in the surround unit. DVD playback is fine, it's just the scart connection, which i have changed for another cable. Maybe it is the tv drive itself. Anyway, I am looking at new tvs so one with HDMI should sort it out. If not then then i will be back with more queries.

Thanks.

Another member on the TVdrive forum has said that the second scart is only active when archiving stuff to dvd or vhs so that is why you are not getting any sound from it. If you get a scart lead with audio breakout to phono you can run this from av1 as well as your TV.
