My Win98 pc is connected wirelessly to router ok, however internet explorer says " detecting proxy settings" then the homepage appears then "page not found dns error". All my settings look ok, can anyone techies out there help.
Please spare me the "throw it in the bin" comments regarding win98 lol!!!
is there an faq on when, although, posting your IP or MAC can be a good thing, it is, also, best kept private
The OP's computer is behind a router so it will not have his public IP address. Instead, it will be some sort of local IP - which is of no use to anyone trying to be malicious.
