NTL Leaving Drinks

I went out again last night for a few guys leaving ntl.

Two of them are redundant and have had no trouble finding jobs, and the other has decided to get out before the next round of redundancies. It was the general opinion that ntl are losing another three good technical guys, its amazing when agencies are having difficulty recruiting network technicians for the company and they let three guys like this go.

The guys did have a laugh when I mentioned that Manpower are advertising on behalf of ntl for Network Technicians, and close to the top of the list of requirements was "Needs a pro-active approach to preventative maintenance"

I think its now generally accepted that ntl are losing too many technical people, the jobs market is picking up and many are eager to make the move. I think some of us will have a little smile when Engineer/Technician levels drop below the requirement needed to run the network efficiently, certain empire building management seem to think running the business requires no more than bums sat on office seats.

Re: NTL Leaving Drinks

although not connected to ntl , we are suffering the same where i work , they seem to think that they can ***** on ppl from a great height and believe ppl will just suck it up and carry on , the worm is starting to turn now though and we had 6 or maybe 7 good ppl leave to go elsewhere and it is really starting to hurt everyone that is left
