Is this a typical problem with Telewest ?

Hi

Can anyone tell me if they know or have heard of a problem like

ours.

Every house and flat in our road has full access to Telewest

Digital services except, that is, for the very last 4 blocks of

flats at the end of the road.

We're not sure why Telewest have left these blocks uncabled and

have so far not been given any kind of explanation apart from our

post code is outwith their cabled area.

Our road has about 5 different post codes even though you can walk

from one end to the other in less than 2 minutes !!!!

What's even more annoying is that new flats that were build only a

year ago a few feet away to these 4 blocks now have full Telewest

access.

After some investigation we've also found out that every post code

within a 4 mile radius from us has full access.

This means that only one post code in the area ( ours ) isn't

cabled up.

We're not sure if this a typical problem but any help or comments

would be very useful as we hope to try and push Telewest into

looking at a solution.

This problem wouldn't be so annoying except for the fact that we

can't even get sky installed. The treeline at the back of the

buildings is to high to get any signal.

It does sound a bit odd, are they recently built, or very old flats ?

Re: Is this a typical problem with Telewest ?

The flats are about 6 or 7 years old and i believe that the cabling was done at the time they were being constructed. The cable box is only about 40 or 50 feet away from my window across the other side of the access road to the new flats which were built about 12 months ago.

If they had run the cabling another few hundred yards then the whole street would have been covered... ....and everyone would have been happy.

Hi

Just to say that a site survey has been done and everything is being passed over to their planning department to have a look and see what can be done to cable up the rest of the flats.

Should hear back from them in about a week but it looks promising.

Is it usual for Telewest to move this quick on a problem like this ?

I only contacted them on Monday !!!
