Microsoft loses browser court case

Actually, this isn't good news...

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/32561.html

The patent appears to cover all interactive content delivered either by plug-ins or active-X. MS state that they intend to modify IE to avoid the patent, but that it will affect many web pages.

It could be bye bye to Flash & embedded media players. (my interpretation)

I think its more a case of bye bye to auto deployment of embedded players.... if you want it then you go to the macromedia site and download it

Not a bad thing unless you don't know what you are doing, and then the techie of the family gets loads of phone calls saying "I just did what it said on screen"

Does this mean we could all lose the use of IE?
