Question webspace utilities???

Hi there
Are there any utilities such as form submits or hit counters or any such things with ntl webspace? Most ISPs have some available but I cannot find any details of them on the ntlworld site!

TIA,
Mark

Welcome to the site...
Form submits can be written in html and therefore OK with NTL
For hit counters try something like microsofts free webcounter (although having a quick search doesn't seem to bring it up) it used to be available at fastcounter.bcentral.com

Re: webspace utilities???

I use StatCounter for my web site, but I use it hidden. it is free and you can also get stuff like IP addresses of visitors, which country they originate from, which town, what operationg systeme they have, browser, resolution etc.
All good for free.

http://www.statcounter.com/

Sign up and enter details, the rest is done by them.

Re: webspace utilities???

How about something like a form to email script? I was with BT before and they provided a cgi script to use with some hidden fields... Do NTL provide anything like this? Their documentation is pitiful!!

Thanks

no they don't... no server side technologies are available on the ntl webspace, if you want some excellent, cheap hosting, check out

DO you actually use them, because I do.....cheap yes........excellent...not in my experience.

To be honest I have had a significant amount of downtime on our site since I signed up in October, and will be moving soon.

yes i have 4 sites hosted with them... 3 on kestrel and 1 on robin... and i haven't had any problems at all. 3hours downtime i think is the total.

I have found their support to be excellent, and for 99p a month i can't find anything to complain about

nothing - it is the datacentre (DC) , that is the problem, by the looks of it

-the best we can do is log out & let them try & sort it out - they don't usually rest until they do
