RS232 Serial port

Hey, I want to connect my phone to my pc with a DCA-500 serial cable, apparently it wants to use a RS232 serial port.

I have a Dell 4600, and was wondering if I have this port, or if anything would be using it before I buy this cable?

TIA

Re: RS232 Serial port

You've probably got two, look round the back, you should have two sockets that'll fit a plug like this

Re: RS232 Serial port

If it's the 4600 with integrated graphics you will have the port next to where you plug in your monitor according to the manual if you have the stand alone graphics card then it will in a slightly different place but should be close to the paralel port on the back of the PC.
Here's a pic of the back of the unit (from the manual) the unit with integrated graphics has a port right below it where the monitor plugs in.
